ShoesTV interviewed Israeli shoe designer Kobi Levi in a Take 5 feature awhile back and he is getting more famous as time goes by. Whoopi Goldberg rocked a pair of Levi's shoes when President Barack Obama was a guest on "The View" this morning. ShoesTV has the details on the special kicks.

Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters and President Obama on "The View." "I like hangin' out with women," Obama told the ladies.
Whoopi Goldberg is known for wearing comfortable shoes. She usually co-hosts "The View" in sneakers. You won't catch Goldberg in Louboutins or sky high stilettos. However, she clearly wanted to show her respect for President Obama by dressing to the nines--Whoopi style. The comedian rocked black pants with a flowy black skirt (a la Stevie Nicks) and topped the look off with a blazer and a button up blouse. She chose Kobi Levi's "Chewing Gum" heels that retail for $2,240. The pink heel is meant to represent stretched out pink chewing gum.

Levi's website describes the Chewing Gum shoe as "portraying a scene from the life of an everyday unfortunate sneker. By freezing a single frame Kobi captured the movement and the tension in the stretched piece of chewing gum and turned it into a high heel."
Levi opened his studio in Tel Aviv last July and is swamped with thousands of requests on where women can purchase his over the top shoes. Tip--his website. Props to Whoopi for rocking a unique shoe. Clearly, she can afford any pair she wants from any designer and she chose a playful pair of shoes from an up and coming Israeli designer.
