Songs About Shoes

We all love music and ShoesTV is all about shoes so what could be cooler than songs about shoes? K-EARTH 101 recently asked their listeners to call in and name their favorites. From Elvis to The Beatles to Kenny Chesney, we took their list and added some songs of our own. Check em' out!

Check out what the AM rush-hour crowd came up with:

1. “These Boots Are Made for Walking” by Nancy Sinatra

2. “Blue Suede Shoes” by Elvis Presley

We love Elvis and his Blue Suede Shoes.

3. “Boogie Shoes” by KC and The Sunshine Band

4. “Those Shoes” by The Eagles

5. “High Heel Sneakers” by Tommy Tucker

6. “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins

7. “Goody Two Shoes” by Adam Ant

8. “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes” by Paul Simon

9. “Let’s Dance” by David Bowie

10. “Old Brown Shoe” by The Beatles

The Beatles' Old Brown Shoe.

Inspired by K-EARTH’s list, we decided to make one of our own:

“Brand New Shoes” by She and Him deserves a nod. Who can resist the quirky stylings of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward? The sadly sweet lyrics of this song just melt our hearts:“I had some brand new shoes/They were all red but they gave me the blues/And they’re running away, they left me a letter/It’s just like you told me it’d be.”

“New Shoes” by Paolo Nutini is a must-add to this list. With catchy, fun lyrics like “Hey, I put some new shoes on/And suddenly everything is right/I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody’s smiling/It’s so inviting,” this song was made for a bright summer day.

For the country lovers among us, nothing compares to “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under” by Shania Twain. No one matches Shania in sass, and this song is no exception: “I know about Lolita/Your little Spanish flame/I’ve seen you around with Rita/The redhead down the lane/Whose bed have your boots been under?/And whose heart did you steal I wonder?”

Kenny Chesney’s “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” is another country favorite. The song makes us want to hit the beach as he croons “I’ve been up to my neck working six days a week/Wearing holes into the shoes on my feet/Been dreaming of getting away since I don’t know/Ain’t no better time than now for Mexico/And no shoes, no shirt, no problems/Blues what blues, hey I forgot them/The sun and the sand and a drink in my hand with no bottom/And no shoes, no shirt, and no problems.” Hey, we’d join a shirtless Kenny Chesney in a drink any day!

Kenny-we'll take you shoes or no shoes!
