Oprah's Impromptu Louboutin Giveaway

One lucky Oprah fan received a pair of used Louboutins worth $800 Monday while attending Oprah’s "Lifeclass: The Tour" at Radio City Music Hall. Sure, they may have been used and fresh off Oprah’s sore feet … but free Louboutins! Oprah Winfrey was well-known for her generous gifting on The Oprah Winfrey Show, especially during the annual “Oprah’s Favorite Things” episode, but this giveaway was totally unplanned.

While teaching her Lifeclass, Oprah’s pair of size-11 Louboutins became a bit too uncomfortable to continue wearing and the icon kicked them off, saying, “I can’t take it anymore,” and simply handed them to an audience member. She resumed her Lifeclass barefoot until a member of her team brought a fresh pair of more comfortable shoes shortly after.

Oprah often wore fabulous heels on The Oprah Winfrey Show, but only for the camera. About these leopard-print heels, Oprah said, “Another pretty pair that’s strictly for TV--I take them off the minute the show is over.”

Oprah’s Lifeclass is meant to help her fans lead a fulfilling life using Oprah’s own experiences as a backdrop for self-help lessons. Her Lifeclass guests have included Tony Robbins, popular self-help author, motivational speaker, and business guru.

Oprah has been a long-time Christian Louboutin devotee, but she has not held back about the painful price she pays to wear such enviable heels. While discussing these sunshine yellow Louboutin slingbacks, she said, “You look pretty when you first walk in the room, then go sit down. That’s what you need to do. Because you’re not standing long.”

One audience member certainly benefitted from Lifeclass Monday, though maybe not spiritually. We can’t get over it – Louboutins! The shoes are now certainly worth much more than their original $800 price tag, simply because they have the golden touch of Oprah. It’s one thing to own a hot pair of shoes; it’s another to own a hot pair of Oprah Winfrey’s shoes.
