Look Slimmer by...Changing Your Shoes?

While there is no substitute for eating well and getting off the couch from time to time for a little exercise, there’s a new magic trick out there that can help you slim down--or at least help you look as though you’ve slimmed down. All you have to do is change your shoes.

Debenhams, a UK-based department store, has announced a drop-a-size-in-seconds formula--it's a little convoluted, so I’ll spare you a lengthy translation of the quasi-algebraic equation: (C+P+H+HW) – AS = S.

It pretty much means that a pair of flesh-colored stilettos sans ankle straps is your ticket to looking skinny. These magical shoes offer “the impression of lengthened legs and tighter thighs while encouraging the torso to be pushed out, in turn flattening the stomach.”

Feeling skinny yet? Nude peep toes from Christian Louboutin.

“This is a diet in a shoe,” says Natelle Baddeley, head of accessories for Debenhams. “Once you have found the perfect pair, all you need to do is slip on your shoes to instantly transform your silhouette.”

Matching your skin tone is key to looking slim. Try these Gamira pumps from Guess.

The ShoesTV team will file these magic skinny shoes under the “Fashion Aid” category. Just like Spanx and holding your shoulders back when you walk, the power of the nude shoe can only do so much with the body that it’s places on. But hey, every little bit helps, right?

Be that as it may, we've decided to maintain our health club memberships just the same.
