Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent (August 1, 1936 – June 1, 2008) was a French designer who founded the label Yves Saint Laurent, or YSL. Founded in 1961, YSL is one of the great fashion names of the 20th century.
The first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury ready-to-wear in a 1966 collection called ‘Rive Gauche’, Yves Saint Laurent changed the fashion world. The shift represented a first and critical step in the modernization of fashion, making it accessible to a wider public. Today Yves Saint Laurent’s collections include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, scarves, ties, eyewear, and beauty products.
Have you ever had the problem of having too many fabulous shoes? Yeah, me neither. However, being rich, famous, and fashionable has its perks: Sharon Osbourne owns so many shoes she needed help sorting through all of them to figure out which pairs she never wears anymore and could give to charity. The task fell to her daughter Kelly Osbourne, co-host of "Fashion Police" on E! Entertainment Television, this week. Take a look at what she found!
It's the perfect season to say Aloha to your baggy clothes and wool sweaters and take a tropical vacation. At ShoesTV we always keep our eyes on the hottest resort footwear collections out there to help you, dear reader, pack the perfect weekend (or weeklong) wardrobe. We like the Lanvin Resort 2012 Collection, which offers nautical wedges, colorful ballet flats and that French flair we have come to love and expect from Lanvin.
How is it possible that in a fashion footwear world that seems to be dominated by vertigo-inducing YSLs and Jimmy Choos, that a footwear company that’s known for its flats could have crossed the $1 billion mark in sales?
ShoesTV sat down for a Designer Dish with Crystal Heels founder Evelyn Fox who creates one-of-a-kind hand-strassed Swavorski and Preciosa crystal shoes.
From Daffodil Louboutins to Dolce & Gabbanas and YSLs, each shoe is uniquely customized with crystals that are applied by hand.
ShoesTV got celebrities to dish on their New Year's shoe resolutions. Find out a "Basketball Wives LA" star's clubbing-related resolution, the "All My Children" actress who vows to wear her YSL's this year, and the rocker who vows not to step in any more dog poop! All this and more.....
TGIF! It’s the day that we’ve all been looking forward to all week! Not only because it’s the last weekday of 2012, or because it’s the end of what for some of us has been a hectic work week. But it’s that wonderful day of the week when ShoesTV takes a walk though designer resort footwear heaven!
ShoesTV headed to the Los Angeles home of actress Alicia Minshew, best known for her nine-year stint on "All My Children." Minshew showed us the shoes she scored from the "All My Children" wardrobe department, the shoes she rocked on her wedding day, and even the shoes she was wearing on the night she met her husband. From YSL to Versace and even Guess--she shares it all.
We at ShoesTV are crazy about shoes (our name says it all!) And while we have nothing but love for Louboutin, YSL, Dolce & Gabbana, Jeffrey Campbell, and a number of other girlie high-heeled creations, we actually have a soft spot in our hearts for sneakers as well.
ShoesTV crashed the red carpet at the grand opening of the Ashley Paige Boutique and Artist Studio on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. Rockers and fashionistas turned up to check out Paige's new space as well as her Swarovski-encrusted bikinis. DJ Caroline D'Amore worked her magic on the turn tables and kept the party goin'!
ShoesTV visited "Castle" star Tamala Jones for a Closet Confessional! The actress took us through her shoe closet and wowed us with her fab collection that ranges from a striking pair of Giuseppe Zanottis to Louboutin pumps that are similar in style to the legendary ones that Victoria Beckham rocked at Kate and William's royal wedding.
