Versace is an international fashion house which makes clothes, accessories, fragrances, makeup, and home furnishings. The label was founded by Italian designer Gianni Versace ( December 2, 1946 - July 15, 1997). Versace debuted his first signature collection for women at the Palazzo della Permanente Art Museum of Milan. His first menswear collection followed in September of the same year. After presenting his menswear collection he joined Jorge Saud, who would later also become a partner with Giorgio Armani. His first boutique was opened in 1978 at Milan's Via della Spiga. After his death, his sister, Donatella Versace, became the creative director of the company. With many smaller lines, Versace is still one of the most well-known high-end fashion brands in the world.
