Designer Dish: Crystal Heels

ShoesTV sat down for a Designer Dish with Crystal Heels founder Evelyn Fox who creates one-of-a-kind hand-strassed Swavorski and Preciosa crystal shoes. From Daffodil Louboutins to Dolce & Gabbanas and YSLs, each shoe is uniquely customized with crystals that are applied by hand.

Fox created her first pair of Crystal Heels six months ago for herself and was repeatedly approached by other women who admired her shoes. Seeing a business opportunity, Fox quickly launched Crystal Heels and has been taking orders for shoes ever since. Crystal Heels can also be purchased at the Style Haus on Melrose Place in Los Angeles.

Women across the world buy shoes directly off the Crystal Heels website or send in their own shoes to be strassed. The shoes take 30-50 hours to glitz out and come with a certificate of authenticity.

Crystal from VA says, Gorgeous... but still very expensive. With the cost of the shoe, I can see 'em being worth it, but a lot of people still cannot afford YSL or Louboutin. I started strassing shoes on my own time as well, weather designer or non-designer and it's a very tedious and delicate process working with all the tiny swarovskis but in the end it's totally worth it.
