Christian Louboutin Creates Bollywood-Inspired Shoes

The master of the stiletto, Christian Louboutin, has created a few new shoe styles that draw inspiration from the glamorous world of Bollywood.

Louboutin drew inspiration from the shimmer and shine of Bollywood.
Once you see a Bollywood film, you’ll never forget it, and the same can be said for Christian Louboutin’s new Bollywood-inspired heels. Known as the Bollywoody (no, that last “y” isn’t a typo) and the Devidas, the pumps have a striking base shade of pink and black suede, respectively, and are accented with, well, everything.
Just about every shade on the color wheel is represented in these shoes as well as embroidered swirls, loops, zigzags and, of course, plenty of bling.

Bollywoody
The shoes perfectly reflect the ornate style of dress that’s typically worn by the heroine, as well as her large troupe of backup dancers, in many Bollywood films. The ladies shimmy and shake their way (sans footwear may I add) across the screen rocking enviable abs and a flurry of sparkle and shine.
“I love Bollywood and all of those films,” Louboutin said recently to the “Hollywood Reporter.” “The women there are very feminine.”

Devidas
Feminine as they may be, the Bollywood dancers would no-doubt end up in the intensive care unit if they tried to bust a move in Louboutin’s new shoes. The heels on the Devidas measure in at 5.5 inches (which, let’s face it, in the world of Louboutin is fairly tame), while the Bollywoody heels are a death-defying six inches!
Although the ShoesTV team is in awe of these new styles, we realize that they’re perhaps best left off of the dance floor. In fact, it’s probably best to reserve them for events that don’t require quite so much hip shaking at all…like a nice sit-down dinner.
